#7 spin girl problems

It is probably apparent that sometimes I neglect or forget about my blog as it has almost been two months since my last post. And that last post was last year which is awful. So let's catch up.

I received my grades back for my promotion project (Meadham Kirchhoff) and my photography & styling project; both of which I was very pleased with, achieving a 1st and a 2:1.

After a chaotic couple of months, I found myself with a lot of spare time on my hands and filling this time with unproductive (yet enjoyable) things such as watching every series of sex and the city and all episodes of secret diary of a call girl. By which time, I decided I needed to get out and do something useful.

As a result of this decision, I am now a Spin Girl. If you are unaware of what one of these are, I will enlighten you. Spin-Agency is a PR agency founded by Leila Fataar, which has some impressive clientele, from Carhartt to Denim Demon (my favourite!). I was successful in securing an internship with this company and have been working there the past couple of days.

So far, I have been lucky enough to be involved in some really exciting projects. I accompanied Heather (also a Spin Girl) down to Hoxton Sqaure Bar and Kitchen on Thursday night to attend Artrocker's New Blood Festival in association with Original Penguin. We interviewed the three bands, who were Laurel Collective, Citizens! and Foreign Office, using a chatterbox which was a lot of fun. All of the boys were lovely and had some hilarious answers which will be featured on the Original Penguin blog.

My time at Spin to date has been exciting and a lot of hard work; blogging, sorting out dockets, signing samples in and out, emailing clients and schmoozing with bands - to list but a few. Here's to being a Spin Girl.
